Job description
A well-regarded secondary school in Chelmsford is seeking a skilled and motivated Design Technology Teacher to join their department on a part-time basis to cover maternity leave. The school is rated Good by Ofsted, with leadership judged Outstanding, and offers a highly supportive, well-structured environment with clear expectations and strong behaviour. The Role You will teach Design Technology across KS3 and KS4, delivering a balanced programme of practical and theory-based lessons. The timetable is part-time and focused on maintaining continuity and high standards during the maternity cover period. You will plan engaging lessons, assess student progress, and provide constructive feedback to support strong outcomes. The department is well organised, with shared schemes of work, clear health and safety procedures, and strong technician support. You’ll be expected to maintain a safe, orderly workshop environment and contribute positively to departmental collaboration.
