Job description
A popular primary school in Bristol is recruiting a friendly Site Assistant to join the premises team from January 2026. The Site Assistant will support opening and closing routines, carry out cleaning and upkeep tasks, assist with putting out equipment for events and help maintain tidy outdoor areas. This Site Assistant role in Bristol offers varied day-to-day responsibilities and the chance to work as part of a committed site team. Induction and a practical handover will be provided prior to January 2026, ready for the spring term start of January 2026. • Site Assistant required for a practical, supportive role • Site Assistant required to work within a busy primary school in Bristol • Site Assistant to support site routines, maintenance and event preparation The Site Assistant will assist with deliveries, maintain waste and recycling procedures, support playground and grounds upkeep and report repairs to the Site Manager. Good teamwork and a flexible approach are key for the Site Assistant who will regularly liaise with staff, visitors and contractors in Bristol. Responsibilities Support daily opening/closing and carry out routine premises checks for safety and cleanliness. Perform cleaning and grounds duties, assist with minor maintenance and move furniture for events. Help set up and clear away for parents’ evenings, assemblies and lettings, ensuring equipment is safely stored. Support deliveries, keep site supplies stocked and assist with basic inventory tasks. Report hazards and maintenance issues and help maintain health & safety logs. Person specification Practical experience in cleaning, caretaking or site support roles, preferably within education or community settings. Able to perform manual tasks safely and follow health & safety procedures. Reliable, flexible and ready to work across Bristol with availability to start January 2026.
