Job description
Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale School Information This Outstanding-rated 11–18 secondary school in Oxford is known for its exceptional academic performance, data-driven culture, and strong leadership. The school consistently achieves results well above national averages due to its rigorous assessment systems, high expectations, and commitment to targeted student support. The administrative and data teams work closely with senior leaders to ensure that assessment information is accurate, timely, and used to inform teaching and learning. The school is well-equipped with modern MIS systems, user-friendly dashboards, and excellent training pathways for staff wishing to develop further in data analysis. This is a fast-paced yet supportive environment where precision, reliability, and excellent organisation are highly valued. Role Information The school is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Officer to manage, maintain, and analyse school performance and assessment data. Key responsibilities include: Managing the school MIS (SIMS/Arbor/Bromcom), ensuring data accuracy Producing assessment, attainment, and progress reports for stakeholders Supporting teachers with assessment entry, data uploads, and training Overseeing census returns, exam data, and statutory reporting Creating dashboards and data summaries for leadership and governors Ensuring GDPR compliance and maintaining secure data procedures Coordinating internal data cycles and deadlines Providing technical troubleshooting for MIS queries Supporting timetabling, attendance reporting, and scheduling tasks You will collaborate closely with academic leads, the exams officer, and SLT to ensure the school’s data is organised, accurate, and purposeful. Requirements Experience working with school MIS systems Strong analytical, numerical, and IT skills Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy Ability to present data clearly to non-specialists Experience with Excel, spreadsheets, and report tools Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple tasks Strong communication and problem-solving skills Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality Application To apply, please send your CV as soon as possible.
