Job description
We are working with a popular and vibrant two-form entry multi-cultural school in Birmingham to appoint a proactive and professional Office Manager for a March 2026 start. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced administrator to lead a friendly office team and play a key role in the daily operations of a highly successful primary school and Multi-Academy Trust. The Role Reporting directly to the School Business Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of the school office. This is a permanent, full-time position requiring a dedicated professional who can balance administrative excellence with effective line management. Hours: 36.5 hours per week (plus banked hours). Grade: GR3 (£27,254 - £33,699 per annum). Start Date: March 2026. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership: Managing and leading the office staff to ensure a professional and welcoming administrative service for all stakeholders. Operations: Overseeing the day-to-day running of the office, including data management, attendance, and general school administration. Communication: Acting as a central point of contact for parents, staff, and external agencies, upholding the school’s professional reputation. Trust Support: Working alongside the School Business Manager to support the school and the wider Trust in their continued development. The student body is known for being friendly and enthusiastic, with Ofsted previously noting their "excellent" attitudes to learning and "outstanding" behaviour. The school also features a dedicated resource base for pupils with Special Educational Needs. Candidate Requirements Proven experience in a senior administrative or office management role (school experience is a significant advantage). Strong line management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team. Exceptional communication and organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail. A warm, professional manner and a genuine commitment to a community-focused school ethos. The school is unable to offer visa sponsorship; candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
