Job description
Are you a Maths ECT eager to start your teaching career in a high-performing school? An Outstanding secondary school in Portsmouth is looking for a Maths ECT to join their strong department from January 2026 . This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified teacher to receive excellent support and professional development. • Maths ECT • Full time • January 2026 start • Teaching across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities available) • Exceptional mentoring and CPD opportunities School Information This large mixed school is known for its exceptional student outcomes and collaborative staff culture. The Maths department is a key strength of the school, boasting innovative teaching practices and high student engagement. The school’s ECT programme includes one-to-one mentoring, peer observations, and tailored training workshops. ECTs are encouraged to develop their teaching style while being supported every step of the way. Experience and Qualifications • A degree in Mathematics or a related field • PGCE/QTS or equivalent • Ability to deliver engaging, well-structured lessons • A commitment to continuous improvement Salary Paid to scale (M1–M2) on a direct school contract.
