Maths Teacher – Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) – Wandsworth Role: Maths Teacher Nature: Full-Time, Permanent Start: April 2025 Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance An exciting and dynamic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Wandsworth is seeking a dedicated and passionate Maths Teacher to join their team from April 2025 . This is a fantastic opportunity to work with students who have faced challenges in mainstream education and help them rediscover their love for learning through innovative and engaging maths lessons. Role Highlights: Full-time, permanent position at a well-established PRU in Wandsworth Teach Maths to secondary-aged students who may have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs or have been excluded from mainstream education Develop and deliver individualized maths lessons , ensuring all students can access and engage with the curriculum Provide support and guidance to students who face barriers to learning, helping them achieve personal and academic success Work closely with SEN staff , therapists , and other colleagues to deliver a holistic approach to student development Assess student progress , adapting teaching methods and providing tailored interventions to meet each student’s needs Foster a positive learning environment that promotes resilience, confidence, and motivation in students Experience & Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Experience teaching Maths at secondary level, ideally in a PRU, SEN , or alternative education setting A patient and empathetic approach to teaching students with SEMH or behavioural challenges Strong knowledge of the Maths curriculum and the ability to adapt it to meet the needs of individual learners Excellent communication, teamwork , and problem-solving skills A passion for helping students re-engage with education and succeed academically Enhanced DBS check required Why Join Us?
