Support will be provided one-to-one , in small groups , or integrated into whole-class activities , depending on the pupil’s individual needs and SENCO guidance. Key Responsibilities As an SEN TA, your responsibilities will include: Delivering personalised support to pupils with SEN to enable access to lessons and activities Supporting pupils to achieve academic, social, and emotional goals Collaborating with class teachers to adapt lesson plans, resources, and teaching methods Implementing strategies outlined in EHCPs, behaviour plans, and individual support plans Supporting pupils’ emotional regulation, behaviour, and social skills development Encouraging positive peer relationships and communication Assisting with transitions between lessons and supervising playgrounds and lunchtimes Observing, recording, and reporting pupil progress and behaviour Providing feedback to teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists Supporting personal care needs when required, maintaining dignity and respect Promoting independence while offering structured guidance Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment This role requires patience, creativity, and adaptability to respond effectively to pupils’ diverse needs.
