Job description
A well-established independent school in Bristol is seeking an experienced and proactive Site Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management, safety, and presentation of the school premises. This is a full-time role offering a key operational position within a professional and well-run independent school environment. The Role You will oversee the smooth running of the school site, ensuring buildings and grounds are safe, secure, and exceptionally well maintained. Working closely with senior leadership, you will manage site operations, coordinate maintenance schedules, and ensure full compliance with health and safety and safeguarding requirements. Your responsibilities will include managing opening and closing procedures, overseeing site security, carrying out and recording routine health and safety checks, and coordinating both planned and reactive maintenance. You will supervise contractors on site, manage supplies and equipment, support room setups for school activities and events, and contribute to longer-term site planning and improvement projects. A high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to pupil safety is essential.
