Job description
Location: Colchester, Essex Start Date: January 2026 Salary: Paid to scale (MPS) A high-performing secondary school in Colchester is seeking a Geography ECT to join its successful Humanities faculty. Role Overview The successful Geography ECT will teach KS3 and KS4 Geography, delivering engaging lessons that develop enquiry skills, map interpretation, and real-world geographical understanding. The department benefits from shared schemes of work, specialist classrooms, and an established approach to fieldwork and enrichment. This role offers excellent support for an ECT, including collaborative planning, clear curriculum sequencing, and consistent assessment structures. The School This 11–18 school educates around 1,250 pupils and has a strong reputation for academic outcomes, respectful behaviour, and effective pastoral care. Humanities subjects are well supported, and students are engaged and motivated in lessons.
