Job description
An outstanding secondary school in the Amersham area is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join its successful Design & Technology department from April 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to teach motivated pupils in a high-performing environment where practical subjects are well supported and valued. Food Technology is a popular subject within the school, with strong engagement at KS3 and KS4 and a clear focus on developing practical skills alongside theoretical understanding. The Role Teaching Food Technology across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 depending on experience Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured practical and theory-based lessons Supporting pupils with coursework, NEA, and exam preparation Promoting high standards of hygiene, health, and safety in practical lessons Encouraging creativity, independence, and confidence in the kitchen Working collaboratively within a supportive and well-resourced DT department The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A degree in Food Technology, Hospitality, or a related subject Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level Strong subject knowledge and confident classroom practice High expectations for pupil engagement, behaviour, and progress A professional, organised, and positive teaching approach School Information This outstanding school in the Amersham area is known for its excellent academic outcomes, strong behaviour, and supportive leadership team.
