Job description
Are you an energetic and inspiring Year 1 teacher passionate about supporting children as they transition into Key Stage 1? Do you thrive in a creative, collaborative environment where every child is encouraged to shine? If so, we’d love to welcome you. We are seeking a committed Year 1 Teacher to join our warm and inclusive school in Reading from January 2026. This permanent position is open to full-time and part-time applicants, with a potential TLR for the right candidate. About the School Our Ofsted-rated Good with Outstanding features school is located in the north of Reading, serving a diverse and vibrant community. With a strong focus on early literacy, play-based learning, and pupil wellbeing, we provide a caring environment where children feel safe and valued. The Role Position: Year 1 Teacher Location: Reading, Berkshire Start Date: January 2026 Contract: Permanent – Full-Time or Part-Time considered TLR: Available for subject or phase leadership (for the right candidate) As our Year 1 Teacher, you will: Plan and deliver engaging lessons that bridge EYFS and KS1 learning Support pupils’ early literacy and numeracy progress Create an inclusive classroom that nurtures confidence and curiosity Collaborate with colleagues and families to ensure strong outcomes (If applicable) Lead a subject or phase What We’re Looking For QTS and KS1 experience (Year 1 preferred) Knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and early phonics Enthusiasm, creativity, and a reflective approach Excellent teamwork and communication skills What We Offer Supportive colleagues and leadership Enthusiastic pupils who enjoy learning Strong focus on professional development and career growth Collaborative and caring school culture Flexible working options and TLR availability How to Apply If you are a passionate Year 1 Teacher ready to inspire a love of learning, we’d love to hear from you.
