Our Geography department is passionate about exploring the world's diverse landscapes, cultures, and environments, and we are seeking an inspirational leader to guide our team and students to even greater success. About the Role: Lead and manage the Geography department, providing strategic direction and inspiring a shared vision for excellence in Geography education. Oversee the delivery of a high-quality Geography curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring that it is engaging, challenging, and relevant to our students' needs and aspirations. Lead, motivate, and develop a team of talented Geography teachers, providing support, guidance, and professional development opportunities. Oversee the organisation and delivery of a diverse program of extracurricular Geography activities, including fieldwork, trips, and clubs. Foster a love of Geography in all students, encouraging them to explore the world around them, develop their geographical skills, and become informed and responsible global citizens. Manage the department's budget and resources effectively. Build strong relationships with parents, external examiners, and the wider school community. Contribute to the school's strategic development and promote the value of Geography education. Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS or equivalent teaching qualification. Possesses a degree in Geography or a related field. Has a proven track record of successful leadership and management in a Geography education setting. Demonstrates a passion for Geography education and a commitment to student success. Has excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Is confident in building rapport with students, staff, and parents. Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Geography and relevant examination specifications. Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
