Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join a high-performing secondary school in Dudley ASAP . This is a full-time, permanent position within a well-structured and supportive finance team. • Finance Assistant required – full-time, permanent • Outstanding secondary school in Dudley • ASAP start • Term-time plus additional weeks • Competitive support staff salary About the Role The school is seeking an organised and reliable Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations of the school. You will work closely with the School Business Manager and Finance Officer to ensure accurate financial processing and compliance with school and trust policies. Key responsibilities include: • Processing purchase orders, invoices and payments • Reconciling accounts and maintaining financial records • Assisting with budget monitoring and reporting • Managing petty cash and expense claims • Supporting audit preparation and compliance procedures • Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders The role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion. Experience and Qualifications • Previous experience in a finance or accounts role • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail • Experience using finance systems (school-based systems desirable) • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel • Ability to meet deadlines and manage workload effectively • Legal right to work in the UK School Information This Outstanding school in Dudley is recognised for its strong leadership, excellent operational systems and commitment to staff development.
