Job description
Our client, a well-established independent day school in Stafford, is seeking a professional and detail-oriented HR Assistant to join their administrative team ASAP . This is a full-time, permanent position supporting the school’s HR function and contributing to a positive and compliant working environment. • HR Assistant required – full-time, permanent • Independent day school in Stafford • ASAP start • Competitive independent sector salary About the Role The HR Assistant will provide efficient and confidential administrative support across all areas of human resources. Working closely with the HR Manager and senior leadership team, you will help ensure that recruitment, onboarding, compliance and personnel records are maintained to the highest standard. Key responsibilities include: • Supporting recruitment processes, including advertising, shortlisting and interview coordination • Managing pre-employment checks, including safeguarding and compliance documentation • Maintaining accurate staff records and HR databases • Assisting with contracts, variations and payroll information • Supporting absence monitoring and HR reporting • Providing administrative support for performance management and CPD records The role requires discretion, accuracy and strong organisational skills. The Ideal Candidate • Previous experience in an HR or administrative role • Strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection • Excellent organisational and time-management skills • Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office • Professional and approachable manner • Knowledge of safer recruitment practices desirable About the School This independent school in Stafford is known for its strong pastoral ethos and professional working culture.
