Job description
Design Technology Teacher – Lead Practical, Safe Workshop Skills in a Dynamic East London School – Hackney A dynamic secondary school in Hackney requires a Design & Technology Teacher with a specialism in Resistant Materials and workshop safety from January 2026. The school emphasizes vocational and practical skills as key pathways for its students. DT Teacher (Resistant Materials Specialist) required from January 2026 Hackney-based school with a strong practical and vocational focus. Ideal for a teacher committed to well-equipped workshop excellence and student safety in a dynamic inner-city setting. You will teach Resistant Materials and core DT at KS3 and lead the GCSE/BTEC practical pathways . The role involves managing the workshop, ensuring machinery safety , and guiding students through the entire design-and-make process using well-equipped tools and modern software. Experience and Qualifications QTS and a specialism in Design & Technology (Resistant Materials/Engineering) . Proven competency in operating and ensuring safe use of workshop machinery. Experience teaching the practical coursework component of GCSE or BTEC DT. Commitment to fostering a structured and innovative approach to design.
