This may be the School Cook opportunity you’ve been looking for… A well-regarded independent school in Derby is seeking a skilled and reliable School Cook to join its catering team and play a key role in providing high-quality, nutritious meals for pupils and staff. Key Details School Cook required in Derby! Full-time, permanent position, starting as soon as possible Prepare and serve fresh, balanced meals for pupils and staff Work within a collaborative and supportive catering team The School This is a forward-thinking and inclusive independent school in Derby that places high value on pupil wellbeing, with nutritious food forming an essential part of school life. The catering provision supports pupils’ health, concentration, and enjoyment of the school day. Staff describe the school as supportive and well-organised, with strong leadership, excellent facilities, and a commitment to professional development. The school encourages creativity and pride in food preparation, offering opportunities to contribute to menu planning, themed lunches, and school events. Location & Salary Location: Derby, Derbyshire Start Date: ASAP Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience School Cook – Experience & Skills Previous experience as a School Cook, Chef, or Catering Assistant (school or similar setting preferred) Ability to prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals in line with school standards Knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety, and allergen regulations Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively Ability to work well as part of a team and follow agreed menus and procedures Positive, professional approach when working with children and staff Legal right to work in the UK Application If you are a reliable and enthusiastic School Cook looking for a rewarding role within an educational environment, we would be delighted to hear from you.
