Job description
A respected and community-focused independent school in Slough is seeking a reliable, practical and proactive Caretaker to join their premises team. This is a full-time, permanent position beginning January 2026, offering a stable and supportive working environment. Job Overview As a key member of the school’s operational team, you will assist in the daily running of the site, ensuring that the school remains safe, clean and well maintained. Key responsibilities include: • Opening, securing and overseeing the site each day • Carrying out repairs, general maintenance and DIY tasks • Maintaining safe and tidy grounds, pathways and external areas • Monitoring heating, lighting, security and alarm systems • Assisting with room setups, events and furniture movement • Liaising with contractors and supporting cleaning operations • Responding to site issues, emergencies and health & safety needs promptly This role suits someone hands-on, dependable and committed to delivering high standards.
