Job description
A prestigious Independent School in Kensington seeks a passionate Geography Teacher to join our Humanities department. We are looking for an educator who can inspire students to explore the complexities of our world and develop a keen understanding of global issues and environmental sustainability. About Our Learning Community: Our school values global awareness and provides access to cutting-edge GIS software, extensive fieldwork opportunities, and a well-stocked geography resource library. We encourage students to engage in independent research and critical analysis of geographical phenomena. About the Role: Deliver engaging and well-structured Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, focusing on physical and human geography, environmental issues, and sustainable development. Plan and lead fieldwork trips to diverse locations, fostering hands-on learning and practical application of geographical concepts. Assess student progress through fieldwork reports, research projects, presentations, and essays, providing timely and constructive feedback. Foster a passion for geographical inquiry and contribute to extracurricular geography clubs and environmental initiatives. Participate in departmental planning, curriculum development, and the integration of GIS technology into teaching. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in Geography. Proficiency in GIS software and extensive experience leading fieldwork. Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills. A deep passion for environmental sustainability, global issues, and geographical research.
