Job description
Location: York Start Date: January 2026 Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Competitive A well-regarded outstanding secondary school in York is seeking a French specialist to join its Modern Languages department this January. About the School The school features a vibrant languages wing, excellent classroom technology, and a supportive staff culture. Students are highly motivated, and languages enjoy strong uptake at GCSE and A-level. The Role • Teach French across KS3–KS5. • Support with curriculum development and enrichment. • Deliver engaging lessons that promote linguistic confidence. • Participate in assessment cycles and data analysis. • Attend departmental meetings and whole-school CPD. • Support trips, language events, and cultural activities. Requirements • Strong subject knowledge in French. • Experience teaching KS3–KS5 desirable. • Excellent planning and communication skills. • Commitment to safeguarding and high standards.
