Data Manager – Outstanding Secondary School – Swindon Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale School Information This Outstanding 11–18 secondary school in Swindon is highly regarded for its academic excellence, strong leadership, and evidence-based approach to improvement. The school serves a diverse community and consistently achieves strong GCSE and A Level outcomes. The leadership team uses data strategically to inform teaching practice, identify achievement gaps, and drive improvement planning. Students demonstrate excellent behaviour, and staff benefit from a culture of collaboration and professional respect. The campus includes modern ICT suites, advanced digital systems, and well-equipped administrative facilities. As part of its continued strategic development, the school is seeking a skilled and analytical Data Manager. Role Overview The Data Manager will oversee all aspects of student data management and reporting. This role is central to school improvement, ensuring that leaders have accurate and timely information to support decision-making. Key responsibilities include: Managing the school’s MIS system (SIMS/Arbor/Bromcom) Producing detailed attainment, progress, and attendance reports Coordinating assessment cycles and reporting windows Submitting statutory returns including the School Census Supporting exam data imports and results analysis Maintaining data integrity and ensuring GDPR compliance Training staff in data-entry processes and reporting tools Working closely with SLT and Governors to present data summaries Identifying performance trends and supporting intervention planning Managing timetabling data and student groupings The role requires high levels of precision, analytical thinking, and strong IT proficiency. Data & Assessment Team Information The Data Manager works alongside the Exams Officer, Attendance Officer, and Deputy Head (Curriculum). The school uses robust digital systems and encourages innovation in data visualisation and reporting methods. Professional development opportunities in advanced data analysis are available.
