Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher Location: Merton (Specific school details will be provided to shortlisted candidates only) Department: Design and Technology Contract Type: Full-time, permanent What We're Looking For: We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong understanding of Design and Technology principles and a commitment to providing high-quality, hands-on learning experiences. The ideal candidate will be: A qualified teacher (holding QTS or equivalent). Experienced in teaching Design and Technology at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Experience in teaching a specific area of DT (e.g., Resistant Materials, Product Design, Textiles, Food Technology, Graphics) is desirable. Passionate about Design and Technology and able to inspire students of all abilities. An excellent classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management skills. Committed to raising student achievement and fostering practical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. A collaborative team player who is willing to contribute to the wider school community. Dedicated to their own professional development and keeping up-to-date with technological advancements. A creative Design and Technology Teacher . Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging Design and Technology lessons across the relevant Key Stages. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including those with SEND. Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback, both written and practical. Maintain accurate records of student attainment and progress. Create a safe, positive, and inclusive workshop/classroom environment that promotes creativity, innovation, and practical skills development. Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Design and Technology department and across the school. Contribute to the development of the Design and Technology curriculum and resources. Ensure the safe and effective use of tools, equipment, and materials, adhering to all health and safety regulations. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
