Job description
A Good Ofsted-rated primary school in Suffolk is seeking a reliable and proactive Site Officer to support the day-to-day management, maintenance, and security of the school site, starting ASAP. This is a key operational role within a friendly primary setting, helping to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils and staff. The Role You will be responsible for the smooth running of the school premises, carrying out routine maintenance and supporting health & safety across the site. The role suits someone practical, dependable, and comfortable working independently in a primary school environment. Key Responsibilities Day-to-day maintenance and care of school buildings and grounds Opening and closing the school site as required Carrying out basic repairs, DIY, and general upkeep Supporting health & safety procedures and site compliance Monitoring site security and reporting issues promptly Supporting school events and occasional out-of-hours requirements Experience and Qualifications Previous experience as a Site Officer, Caretaker, or Facilities Assistant Practical maintenance and DIY skills Working knowledge of health & safety procedures Reliable, flexible, and hands-on approach Ability to work independently and manage priorities Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) The School This Good Ofsted primary school in Suffolk is known for its welcoming ethos, supportive leadership, and positive relationships with pupils and families.
