Job description
An ambitious and high-achieving grammar school in Buckinghamshire is seeking an exceptional Lead Teacher of Music to join its thriving department from April 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for an outstanding Music practitioner to take on a key leadership role within a school known for academic excellence, high expectations, and strong pupil engagement. Music holds an important place within the school’s curriculum and wider co-curricular programme, with strong uptake at GCSE and A Level and a vibrant performance culture. The Role Teaching Music across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 expected Leading on teaching and learning within the Music department Supporting curriculum planning, assessment, and departmental development Driving high standards of performance, composition, and theory Overseeing concerts, ensembles, and wider musical enrichment Coaching and mentoring colleagues to ensure consistently strong practice The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A degree in Music or a closely related subject Proven experience teaching Music at secondary level A strong track record of excellent classroom practice and pupil outcomes Experience leading initiatives or supporting colleagues within a department High expectations for academic achievement and musical excellence School Information This ambitious grammar school in Buckinghamshire is recognised for its exceptional academic results, exemplary pupil behaviour, and strong culture of aspiration.
