Job description
A well-led and steadily improving 11–18 secondary school in Nottingham is seeking a motivated Early Career Teacher of Mathematics to join its ambitious Maths department. The school has invested heavily in curriculum development and teacher support in recent years, resulting in improved outcomes, consistent classroom routines and a strong culture of professional learning. Mathematics is a core priority for the school, with a carefully sequenced curriculum and clear instructional approach that supports both student progress and teacher confidence. The Role You will teach Mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering lessons that focus on clarity, modelling and structured practice. The department uses shared schemes of learning, centrally produced assessments and consistent retrieval strategies to reduce workload and maintain high standards. As an ECT, you will benefit from teaching within a team that values precision, collaboration and evidence-informed practice. ECT Programme & Professional Growth The school offers a comprehensive induction programme including: • A dedicated Maths mentor with weekly coaching sessions • Reduced timetable in line with ECT entitlement • Joint planning sessions and moderated marking • Access to external Maths hubs and training events • Opportunities to observe expert teachers across the department New teachers are supported to refine classroom routines, assessment strategies and subject pedagogy in a structured and supportive manner.
