Job description
A highly regarded independent day school in Nottinghamshire is seeking a talented and confident Teacher of Mathematics to join its established and successful Maths department. The school combines strong academic performance with a nurturing ethos, offering a balanced education that develops both intellectual confidence and personal character. Mathematics is one of the school’s strongest academic departments, with consistently high GCSE and A-Level outcomes. Pupils are well-motivated, polite and accustomed to structured, academically ambitious teaching. The Role You will teach Mathematics across Key Stages 3–5, including GCSE and A-Level. The department values precision in explanation, clear modelling of methods and the development of deep conceptual understanding alongside procedural fluency. Sixth Form classes are small, allowing for focused discussion and personalised academic support. Teachers are encouraged to extend able mathematicians through enrichment such as problem-solving competitions and university preparation workshops.
