Job description
Role Category & Location Sector: Prestigious Independent Secondary School (11-18). Location: Birmingham (West Midlands, England). Start Date: ASAP Start, Permanent, Full-Time. The Opportunity & Role Profile A strategic opportunity for an experienced School Business Manager to join a leading independent school in Birmingham. You will work closely with the Head and Governors to manage the school’s non-teaching functions, focusing on long-term financial health, commercial income, and operational excellence. Core Responsibilities & Duties Scope Financial Oversight: Managing the school’s multi-million-pound budget, performing financial forecasting, and overseeing fee collection/bursaries. Resource Management: Leading the administrative, catering, and premises teams to ensure an elite learning environment. Strategic Procurement: Negotiating high-value contracts and managing capital projects related to school facilities. Compensation & Benefits Essential Requirements: Background in finance/business management (CSBM/DSBM or Accountancy qualification preferred). Salary: Exceptional salary paid on the school's independent pay scale. Support: Access to a dedicated administrative team and generous school-specific benefits.
