Performing Arts Technician – Good Secondary School – Sunderland Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale School Information This Good 11–18 secondary school in Sunderland is recognised for its strong Creative Arts provision and well-supported extracurricular programme. The school maintains modern facilities, including a performance hall, lighting rig, and sound systems used for productions and assemblies. The Performing Arts department delivers Drama and Music across all key stages and stages multiple performances annually. Technical support is vital to maintaining the quality and safety of these events. The school is seeking a technically skilled and organised Performing Arts Technician. Role Overview The Performing Arts Technician will provide technical support for lessons and productions. Key responsibilities include: Setting up lighting and sound equipment Operating technical systems during events Maintaining stage and performance equipment Supporting rehearsals and practical sessions Managing props and costume storage Conducting equipment safety checks Supporting recording and digital media projects Assisting with school productions Preparing staging layouts Managing equipment inventory The role requires technical knowledge and flexibility. Creative Arts Structure The technician works closely with the Head of Performing Arts and teaching staff to ensure smooth delivery of performances.
