Job description
Are you currently completing your teacher training in Science and looking for a supportive school to begin your induction? A welcoming and Good-rated secondary school in Chelmsford is seeking a committed Science ECT for an immediate start . About the Role You will teach Science across KS3–KS4 , supported by carefully structured schemes of work that provide clarity while still allowing you to grow your own teaching style. The Science department places strong emphasis on practical investigation, curiosity-driven learning, and helping students understand Science beyond the classroom. As an ECT, you will receive: A reduced timetable in your induction period A dedicated subject mentor with weekly coaching meetings Opportunities to observe experienced teachers regularly Structured CPD linked to your development targets Time to reflect, improve, and build confidence steadily The school understands what early career teachers need, and more importantly, what they do not need. The Science department is well-resourced, with: Modern laboratories Technician support for practical lessons Shared digital planning resources A friendly, supportive team environment What the School is Looking For PGCE / QTS in Secondary Science (ECT – training year finishing soon) A positive communicator who brings warmth and consistency to the classroom Someone reflective, open to feedback, and eager to grow A genuine interest in helping students understand and enjoy Science If you are enthusiastic, grounded and willing to learn, you will flourish in this department.
