About the School An Outstanding 11–18 secondary school in Oxford, renowned for its academic excellence and forward-thinking ethos, is seeking a Science ECT to join their thriving Science Faculty from January 2026. The school has approximately 1,450 students on roll, including a Sixth Form of around 320 learners. With a Progress 8 score of +0.65 and a long-standing reputation for high outcomes in STEM subjects, the school consistently ranks among the top-performing state schools in Oxfordshire. The campus features modern science laboratories, collaborative teaching spaces, and cutting-edge digital technology to support teaching and learning. About the Role This full-time, permanent post offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career teacher to begin their professional journey in a supportive, high-achieving environment. The appointed teacher will deliver Science across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to specialise in either Biology, Chemistry, or Physics at KS5 under the guidance of experienced mentors. You will work with a collaborative team of teachers who share best practices and support professional growth through co-planning, peer observation, and ongoing feedback. As an ECT, you will be fully supported through a two-year induction programme that includes one-to-one mentoring, reduced timetable allocation, and regular CPD sessions focused on classroom management, assessment, and subject mastery. The school’s emphasis on reflective practice ensures that new teachers feel confident, valued, and equipped to deliver outstanding lessons from day one.
