Job description
School Status & Location Sector: Outstanding Ofsted-rated Secondary Academy (Ethics and Philosophy Hub). Borough: Haringey (Outer London). Start Date: Permanent, full-time role commencing January 2026. The Opportunity & School Profile This Outstanding academy seeks an enthusiastic Religious Studies ECT to join its successful Humanities faculty. The school values philosophical inquiry and ethical debate, providing a supportive environment for a new teacher to engage students with complex moral and social issues. This role is crucial for developing students' critical thinking and global understanding. Core Responsibilities & Teaching Scope Philosophical Guide: Instructing Religious Studies across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE) only. Debate Facilitator: Driving high attainment by encouraging sophisticated discussion, research, and structured argumentation. Ethics Ambassador: Contributing to whole-school ethical discussions and supporting student initiatives related to social responsibility. Compensation & Benefits Essential Requirements: Hold or be soon to obtain QTS. Relevant Degree in Religious Studies, Philosophy, or Theology. Salary: Excellent salary paid on the national Teachers' Pay Scale (M/UPS). Support: Structured ECT induction program and strong support from a collegiate Humanities team.
