Job description
A well-established and high-performing secondary school in Westminster is seeking a professional and personable School Receptionist to join its front office team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a structured and busy school environment where strong communication, organisation, and presentation are highly valued. As the first point of contact for pupils, parents, visitors, and external agencies, the School Receptionist plays a crucial role in maintaining the welcoming and professional atmosphere of the school. The successful candidate will be calm under pressure, highly organised, and confident managing multiple priorities throughout the school day. The Role Acting as the first point of contact for all visitors, ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed Managing incoming calls, emails, and face-to-face enquiries professionally and efficiently Maintaining visitor records and issuing passes in line with safeguarding policy Supporting attendance processes and daily registers where required Assisting with pupil records, data entry, and general administrative tasks Providing administrative support to senior leaders and teaching staff Managing incoming and outgoing post and deliveries Supporting wider school events and operational needs The Ideal Candidate Will Have Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role, ideally within a school setting Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Confidence working with school MIS systems (e.g. SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom) The ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment A proactive, friendly, and dependable approach This secondary school in Westminster is known for its strong academic standards, structured systems, and supportive leadership team.
