School Business Manager – Independent Secondary School – Lincoln Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale School Information This established independent 11–18 secondary school in Lincoln is recognised for its strong academic outcomes, small class sizes, and highly professional operational structure. The school combines traditional values with modern governance and financial oversight. Leadership places strong emphasis on strategic planning, financial sustainability, and regulatory compliance. The campus includes specialist teaching facilities, administrative offices, and well-maintained premises. Governance is proactive and engaged in long-term development. Due to continued growth, the school is seeking an experienced and strategic School Business Manager. Role Overview The School Business Manager will lead operational functions including finance, HR, premises, and compliance. Key responsibilities include: Managing annual budgets and financial forecasting Preparing reports for Governors and Trustees Overseeing HR processes and safer recruitment Managing premises and health & safety compliance Leading procurement and contract management Supervising administrative and finance staff Supporting risk management and policy compliance Contributing to whole-school strategic planning Ensuring regulatory compliance Overseeing operational efficiency This is a senior leadership position requiring strategic thinking and strong organisational capability. Operations Team The SBM works directly with the Headteacher and Governing Board. Clear reporting systems are in place.
