Job description
Wayman Education is delighted to be recruiting a Food Technician for a busy and well-regarded secondary school in Romford . This is a full-time, term-time-only opportunity starting immediately, supporting a thriving Food Technology department with strong GCSE uptake and high student engagement. *Full-time position *Immediate start *Excellent DT facilities *Supportive Senior Leadership Team *Long-term progression opportunities School Information This school prides itself on strong pastoral care, excellent behaviour, and a practical curriculum that equips students with real-life skills. The Food Technology department benefits from refurbished kitchens, up-to-date equipment, and a collaborative team of teachers who rely heavily on skilled technical support. The school offers a welcoming, professional working environment where technicians are valued as an essential part of the learning process. Role Overview You will be responsible for the daily preparation of ingredients, maintaining food storage systems, cleaning and sanitising workspaces, supporting demonstrations, and ensuring that all health, hygiene and safety standards are fully met. You will also assist with assessment preparation, practical exams, and student coursework. Experience and Qualifications Food handling or catering background essential Food Hygiene Level 2 desirable Strong organisational skills and reliability Salary Competitive term-time salary, dependent on experience.
