Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire Job Title: Nursery Teacher Sector: Early Years / Primary Education Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term (Permanent opportunities available) Start Date: ASAP Salary: MPS/UPS – dependent on experience About the School A welcoming, inclusive, and community-focused primary school in Northampton is seeking a passionate and nurturing Nursery Teacher to join their Early Years team. About the Role As the Nursery Teacher , you will take responsibility for planning and delivering a rich, play-based curriculum in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. You will work with children aged 3–4, supporting their learning, wellbeing, and development during a crucial stage of early childhood. You will create a nurturing and engaging learning environment that supports children’s communication, social skills, emotional regulation, and early learning foundations. Working closely with teaching assistants, Early Years leaders, and parents, you will ensure that every child is supported to reach their full potential. This role would suit a caring, reflective, and enthusiastic Early Years teacher with a strong understanding of child development and inclusive practice. Both experienced teachers and ECTs with a passion for Early Years are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Your responsibilities as a Nursery Teacher will include: • Planning and delivering engaging, play-based EYFS learning experiences • Creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive Nursery environment • Supporting children’s communication, language, and personal development • Delivering early phonics, mark-making, and early mathematics activities • Observing, assessing, and tracking children’s progress using EYFS frameworks • Differentiating provision to meet individual needs, including SEND and EAL • Supporting children’s emotional wellbeing and social interaction • Working closely with teaching assistants to deliver high-quality provision • Building strong partnerships with parents and carers • Supporting routines, transitions, and personal care where required • Promoting independence, confidence, and positive behaviour • Upholding safeguarding, health, and safety procedures at all times The Ideal Candidate The school is seeking a Nursery Teacher who demonstrates: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) • Experience teaching within an EYFS or Nursery setting • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development • A nurturing, patient, and child-centred approach • Excellent classroom organisation and behaviour management • Strong communication and teamwork skills • A reflective and proactive mindset Desirable but not essential: • Early Years qualifications or leadership interest • Experience supporting children with SEND or speech and language needs • Knowledge of phonics programmes Training, Support & Development The school provides: • A comprehensive EYFS induction programme • Ongoing Early Years CPD and training • Support from experienced EYFS leaders • Opportunities for progression within Early Years or teaching roles Safeguarding Commitment The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
