Job description
Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent About the School This Good-rated girls’ secondary school in Croydon supports students aged 11–16 and is known for its strong pastoral systems, inclusive values, and commitment to student wellbeing. Attendance and safeguarding are central priorities, and the school has invested significantly in early intervention strategies and family engagement. Staff work closely across departments to ensure pupils receive consistent support and guidance, with attendance recognised as a key driver of academic success. Role Information As Attendance Officer, you will play a vital role in monitoring, improving, and sustaining high levels of student attendance and punctuality. You will work closely with pastoral leaders, safeguarding teams, families, and external agencies. Key responsibilities include: Daily monitoring of attendance and punctuality data Identifying patterns of persistent absence and initiating interventions Communicating with parents/carers regarding attendance concerns Producing attendance reports for senior leaders Supporting safeguarding processes linked to attendance Promoting positive attendance culture across the school Requirements Experience in an attendance, pastoral, or administrative role (school-based preferred) Strong data handling and IT skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Understanding of safeguarding and attendance legislation Calm, professional approach when dealing with sensitive issues Application To apply, please send your CV as soon as possible.
