Job description
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Reception Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Bracknell, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about early years education and helping children build a strong foundation for their learning journey. Pupils are encouraged to explore, be curious, and develop confidence in a safe and nurturing environment. The Role As a Reception Teaching Assistant, you will support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. You will help children develop key skills in communication, literacy, numeracy, and social development, both in the classroom and outdoor learning spaces. You will assist with observations, assessment, and recording of pupils’ progress, and provide targeted support for children who require additional guidance. Strong collaboration with teaching staff, colleagues, and parents is essential to ensure children receive consistent support. Key Responsibilities Support learning activities and structured play across the EYFS curriculum Assist with observations and assessments of pupil progress Help maintain a safe, engaging, and stimulating learning environment Support children’s social, emotional, and personal development Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour Work collaboratively with teachers and Early Years staff Communicate effectively with colleagues and parents Contribute to planning, CPD, and whole-school initiatives The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Have experience working in an EYFS setting or similar environment Be patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills Be proactive, flexible, and reliable Show a commitment to safeguarding and inclusion Work effectively as part of a supportive team Why Join This School?
