English Teacher - Horsham, Surrey 📚 Inspire Literary Passion: Dynamic English Teacher Role in Horsham! We are seeking a talented, creative, and dedicated English Teacher to join a supportive secondary school located in the charming market town of Horsham , West Sussex (part of the Surrey commuting area). This is a fantastic opportunity for an educator passionate about literature and language to foster intellectual curiosity and exceptional writing skills in students. The Vitals: What You'll Be Doing This full-time role requires you to deliver engaging and rigorous instruction across the secondary age range, encouraging critical thinking and a lifelong appreciation for the subject. Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Delivery: Teach English Language and English Literature effectively across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and GCSE (KS4) , with the ability to teach A-Level being a significant advantage. Skill Development: Develop students' analytical skills, creative writing abilities, and sophisticated use of language, preparing them thoroughly for public examinations. Assessment & Feedback: Provide detailed, constructive feedback on student work, ensuring clear pathways for improvement and fostering a culture of high academic expectation. Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with the English department team, contributing to the planning of a stimulating curriculum and the development of rich resources. Candidate Profile: What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will be an academically strong teacher with a genuine passion for the subject and a commitment to nurturing student talent. Essential Requirements: Qualification: A degree in English Literature, English Language, or a closely related discipline. Certification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a PGCE. Experience: Proven experience teaching English at the secondary level, with a strong understanding of the GCSE curriculum. Skills: Excellent communication, strong organisational abilities, and engaging classroom management skills.
