Job description
We are recruiting for a professional and highly organised School Receptionist to join a high-performing mixed secondary school in Brent. This is a flagship role within the school’s administrative hub, requiring a candidate who can balance a sophisticated front-of-house presence with rigorous data management. The School & Environment Located in a diverse and ambitious area of Brent, this secondary school is known for its "Outstanding" behaviour and academic rigour. The reception area is a modern, high-tech space that serves as the central nervous system of the school. You will join a large, supportive office team where administrative excellence is highly valued and professional development is a core priority. The Role & Strategic Impact As the first point of contact for students, parents, and external stakeholders, you will play a critical role in the daily security and efficiency of the school. Visitor & Safeguarding Management: Managing the digital sign-in system and ensuring that every visitor is vetted in accordance with "Keeping Children Safe in Education" (KCSIE) 2026 guidelines. Communication & Triage: Operating a complex multi-line switchboard, filtering high-priority calls for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), and managing the school’s main enquiry inbox. Attendance Coordination: Managing the morning "late gate," logging student punctuality on the MIS (SIMS/Arbor), and contacting parents regarding unexplained absences. Operational Support: Assisting the Admissions Officer with the coordination of Year 6 transition days and providing administrative support for school-wide events. Salary Range: £32,500 – £36,500 (Inner London Scale) Start Date: ASAP (Full-time, Permanent)
