Job description
A respected independent school in Brighton is seeking a creative and technically skilled Design Technology Teacher to join their department. This is an excellent opportunity to teach in a high-achieving academic environment where innovation, practical learning, and design thinking are strongly valued. The Role You will teach Design Technology across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to contribute to KS5 depending on experience and specialism. The role focuses on delivering a balanced curriculum that combines practical workshop activity with strong design theory, supporting students to develop problem-solving, creativity, and technical competence. Key responsibilities include: Planning and delivering high-quality Design Technology lessons Teaching practical and theory-based content across core DT disciplines Supporting students in developing design, manufacturing, and evaluation skills Assessing and tracking progress to ensure strong outcomes Maintaining a safe, well-organised workshop environment in line with health and safety requirements Contributing to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities such as projects, competitions, or exhibitions The School Environment This independent school in Brighton is known for its strong academic outcomes, excellent pastoral care, and professional working culture.
