Job description
Role Category & Location Sector: Well-Regarded Primary School (Outstanding Ofsted). Location: Brighton (East Sussex, England). Start Date: Permanent, full-time role commencing January or April 2026. The Opportunity & Role Profile This vibrant Outstanding primary school requires a reliable and hardworking Site Assistant. Working under the Site Manager, you will ensure the school environment is safe, clean, and well-maintained for pupils and staff in this popular seaside city. Core Responsibilities & Duties Scope Maintenance & Repair: Performing daily DIY tasks, minor plumbing, and painting to keep the site in top condition. Site Security: Assisting with the opening and locking of the premises and acting as a secondary key holder. Grounds Upkeep: Ensuring playgrounds and external pathways are clear of hazards and managing waste disposal. Compensation & Benefits Essential Requirements: Practical maintenance skills and a proactive, flexible approach to work. Salary: Competitive salary on the local government scale (expected £22,000 - £26,000 per annum). Support: Local government pension and a friendly, community-focused workplace.
