Job description
An engaging and knowledgeable Humanities Teacher with a passion for History is required to join a well-regarded Independent mixed school in Brent for a permanent position commencing in September. The successful candidate will inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (aged 11-16) with a fascination for the past and develop their critical thinking skills within a humanities context. Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver captivating Humanities Teacher lessons, primarily focusing on History at Key Stages 3 and 4. Prepare students effectively for GCSE History examinations, ensuring a strong understanding of historical concepts and interpretations. Cultivate a dynamic learning environment that encourages historical inquiry, debate, and the analysis of sources within the broader humanities curriculum. Assess and monitor student progress in Humanities (History), providing insightful feedback to enhance their understanding. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in History or Humanities. Demonstrated experience teaching Humanities Teacher lessons with a strong emphasis on History at Key Stages 3 and 4. A strong and comprehensive knowledge of British and world history within a broader humanities framework. Excellent communication and storytelling skills, capable of bringing historical events to life for students. Benefits Salary will be dependent on the school's own pay scale.
