Job description
Are you a creative and nurturing Key Stage 1 teacher who loves helping children take their first steps into primary learning? Do you want to inspire curiosity and confidence at the start of their school journey? If so, we’d love to welcome you. We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 1 Teacher to join our inclusive and high-achieving primary school in Slough from January 2026. This is a permanent position, open to full-time and part-time applicants, with potential for a TLR for subject or phase leadership for the right candidate. The Role Position: Year 1 Teacher Location: Slough Start Date: January 2026 Contract: Permanent – Full-Time or Part-Time Considered TLR: Available for Subject or Phase Leadership (for the right candidate) As our Year 1 Teacher, you will: Lead a Year 1 class, delivering an engaging and creative curriculum. Support children’s progress in phonics, literacy, and numeracy. Assess learning and plan for next steps to secure progress. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Work closely with parents, colleagues, and support staff. (If applicable) Take on subject or phase leadership responsibilities. What We’re Looking For We welcome applicants who: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1. Understand phonics teaching and early childhood development. Are reflective, organised, and excellent communicators. Demonstrate creativity, enthusiasm, and a commitment to inclusion.
