ROLE STARTING IN AUGUST 2026 Join Oaklands College at our thriving St Albans campus as an A-Level Chemistry Lecturer (AQA), inspiring Year 12 and 13 students to achieve exceptional results. Whether you’re an experienced educator or new to teaching, you’ll benefit from a structured induction programme, dedicated mentoring, and the opportunity to gain a recognised teaching qualification. You’ll deliver engaging, inclusive lessons, track progress, provide impactful feedback, and guide students confidently towards exam success. From enrolment to results day, you’ll play a pivotal role in their journey while contributing to curriculum development and maintaining high academic standards within a supportive, forward-thinking department. Your Day-to-Day Impact · To teach A-level Chemistry in line with the AQA syllabus; · To plan and develop engaging, comprehensive lessons that cater to different learning styles and abilities; · Manage student behaviour and engagement in line with College behaviour policy · To set and mark assignments, monitoring student progress and providing feedback to help students improve their performance and prepare them for the A-level exams; · To maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and grades; · To write reports and communicate with parents about student progress; · To contribute to departmental development through participation in curriculum planning, quality assurance, internal verification of student work and professional development activities. Is This You? · A degree in Chemistry or a related field; · Familiarity with current research and advancements to keep lessons relevant and interesting; · Excellent organisational, planning and communication skills; Skill in explaining difficult ideas in a way that is accessible to students.
