Location: Barnet, North London Contract Type: Long-Term / Temp-to-Perm / Permanent / Daily Supply Pay: Competitive daily rates, dependent on experience Employer: Leading Education Recruitment Agency A Leading Education Recruitment Agency is currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a wide range of mainstream and specialist SEN schools in Barnet . Barnet has a strong reputation for inclusive education and well-established SEN provisions, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs in a structured and supportive environment. The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant in Barnet, you will support pupils with a variety of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), SEMH, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, learning disabilities, and sensory needs . Roles are available across Early Years, Primary, and Secondary settings , depending on your experience and preference. You may be required to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or work with small groups to help pupils access the curriculum. In some schools, you may support within specialist resource bases or SEN units attached to mainstream schools. Your role will involve providing consistency, emotional reassurance, and practical learning support to help pupils feel safe, included, and confident. Key Responsibilities Deliver targeted SEN support in line with EHCPs and individual learning plans Support pupils with emotional regulation, social interaction, and behaviour Assist teachers in delivering differentiated lessons and activities Encourage independence, resilience, and positive self-esteem Support pupils during transitions, break times, and sensory activities Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and SENCOs Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and parents About the Schools Schools in Barnet are diverse and inclusive, with strong leadership teams and clear SEN frameworks.
