Job description
A well-regarded secondary school in Shrewsbury is looking to appoint a Geography ECT to join its Humanities faculty from January 2026. Geography is a valued subject within the school, and the department is known for its strong curriculum design and supportive team culture. The curriculum is clearly sequenced and focuses on developing geographical knowledge alongside enquiry skills, extended writing and real-world understanding. You will teach Geography across KS3 and KS4, working closely with experienced colleagues who are committed to supporting early career teachers. Joint planning, lesson observation and coaching are built into the department’s routines, ensuring ECTs are never left to struggle alone. The school has a Good Ofsted rating and benefits from calm, purposeful classrooms. Behaviour systems are clear and consistently applied, allowing ECTs to focus on developing their teaching rather than managing disruption.
