Job description
Outstanding-rated Secondary School in Islington is seeking a part-time English Teacher for a fixed-term Maternity Cover contract, starting January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly supportive and successful Humanities faculty. About the School This school feels like a true community hub. Responsibilities The English Teacher will deliver high-quality, inspiring tuition across Key Stages 3, 4 (GCSE), and 5 (A-Level) on a part-time basis. The teacher is responsible for driving high attainment and promoting sophisticated literary critique and advanced writing skills. They must actively contribute to the school's literacy provision and cultural calendar. The English Teacher is expected to cover all duties relevant to the fixed-term post and participate proactively in departmental planning. Requirements Holds or is soon to obtain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Has the right to work in the UK. Holds a Degree or has experience teaching English.
