Job description
SENCO – Excellent Secondary School – Lewisham Role: SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) Nature: Full-Time, Permanent Start: April 2025 or September 2025 Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR An excellent secondary school in Lewisham is seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO to join their team from April or September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and knowledgeable leader to oversee the school’s SEND provision, ensuring that every student receives the tailored support they need to achieve their full potential. Role Highlights: Full-time, permanent position at an excellent secondary school in Lewisham Lead and manage SEND provision across the school, working closely with staff, students, and external agencies Oversee the identification, assessment, and support of students with SEN, ensuring high-quality interventions and personalised learning plans Support and guide teachers and teaching assistants in delivering effective SEN strategies within the classroom Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and external professionals to create a holistic approach to student development Ensure compliance with SEND legislation and maintain up-to-date EHCPs and support plans Contribute to whole-school improvement strategies and inclusion policies Experience & Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to obtain) Proven experience working with students with SEN in a secondary setting Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation, EHCP processes, and effective intervention strategies A collaborative and proactive approach to supporting students and staff Enhanced DBS check required Why Join Us?
