Job description
A prestigious Independent School in Westminster seeks a creative and skilled Art and Design Teacher for a part-time, permanent position. We are looking for an inspiring educator who can foster students' artistic talents and develop a strong understanding of visual culture within a rigorous academic environment. About Our Learning Community: Our school provides a stimulating and academically rich environment with a strong commitment to the arts. The Art department boasts well-equipped studios for a variety of disciplines, including painting, sculpture, photography, and digital media. About the Role: Deliver engaging and varied Art and Design lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, potentially specialising in one or more areas based on your expertise. Develop and implement innovative lesson plans that encourage creativity, experimentation with different media, and critical analysis of artistic works. Assess student progress through project work, sketchbooks, and presentations, providing detailed and constructive feedback to support their artistic development. Contribute to school art exhibitions and potentially lead extracurricular art clubs or workshops. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Art and Design or a related field. A strong knowledge of art history, theory, and a range of artistic techniques. Excellent communication, organizational, and practical skills, with proficiency in relevant art software or techniques. A passion for inspiring students through art and fostering their individual creative expression.
