Job description
Are you passionate about exploring human behaviour, society, and the world we live in? A highly regarded secondary school in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a talented and forward-thinking Social Sciences Teacher to join their thriving department from September 2025 . This is a full-time, permanent position , teaching a combination of Psychology, Sociology, and/or Criminology at KS4 and KS5 . This role would suit a specialist in one of the social sciences who is confident and willing to teach across disciplines. You will be joining a team of committed educators who deliver creative, thought-provoking lessons that challenge students and encourage them to think critically about the world around them. Role Snapshot: Position: Social Sciences Teacher Subjects: Psychology, Sociology, Criminology (flexible based on expertise) Key Stages: KS4 and KS5 Location: Stoke-on-Trent Start Date: September 2025 Contract Type: Full-time, permanent Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience) ECTs and experienced teachers welcome About the School: The school is an 11–18 mixed comprehensive with a welcoming atmosphere and a strong focus on academic and personal development. The Social Sciences department is well-resourced, popular with students, and achieves consistently strong results. What We're Looking For: A degree in a relevant Social Science subject (Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, etc.) UK QTS or equivalent teaching qualification Ability to teach at least one subject to A-Level, with flexibility across disciplines An engaging and innovative teaching approach Strong classroom management and a commitment to inclusive education A desire to contribute to wider school life and enrichment activities Why This Role?
