Job description
History Teacher required January 2026 Independent mixed school based in Colchester History Teacher to join an academically rigorous and research-led Humanities faculty Our Client is seeking a History Teacher to deliver KS3–KS5 History within a long-established independent school in Colchester. The successful candidate will teach a highly academic curriculum with strong emphasis on historical argument, evidential analysis and independent research. The role also includes opportunities to contribute to history societies, lecture programmes and academic competitions. School Information This independent 11–18 college educates approximately 740 pupils and has an outstanding reputation for university preparation and examination success. History is one of the school’s strongest subjects, with consistently high outcomes at both GCSE and A Level. The department benefits from specialist teaching spaces, historical archives, academic journals and digital research tools.
